Luckily I live in Finland and we tend to leave the video feed off. We are pretty good at social distancing.

We are usually sharing our desktops, so there really isn’t any video conferencing happening. I also have my laptop docked and closed, so the camera isn’t even available.

Ive only had a few calls where they wanted video, and most people ignored it anyway. I make sure do only do it from one of the renovated parts of the house so it doesn't look like too much of a dump in the background.

I grabbed a picture of Monza podium (mass of tifosi in the background).  I like the Simpsons couch idea!  Borrowing that :)

I love the pics of people in places like Finland , Switzerland giving each other plenty of space in lines and at bus stops...Seems like a dream world to me haha.

I’ve only used Zoom for the Jalopnik trivia nights, so I just use my LJ as a background, or something scenic.

Mostly the door of the closet behind me. I did use a beach background right before I went on vacation to Hawaii but that was before the ‘rona hit.

I don’t do virtual unless I’ m in the studio, then I just do boring stuff like this.

I gotta say though that I’ m really impressed with the live keying in Zoom, it’ s pretty good. You still get edges, but c’ mon, this isn’t bad.

Oh, here we go.

Yesterday, I got up for a 9:00 class. I was still wearing my Star Trek pajamas. I used this background.

When I’m proctoring a test, I have used this one. The souls behind me are all the students who cheated on my tests.

For a moving background, I’ve used Max Headroom’s pattern. It’s my favorite for the inside joke, but I’m not sure anyone gets it.

But what I really wish I could use for my live feed is to hack the foreground, so I could use this:
